1. Bold Bangs
Beautifully thick bangs are totally in for 2017. They are a great way to change up your look without changing the length of your hair too much. Plus, they perfectly frame the face and make your eyes pop. These bold bangs are trending across all lengths, textures and hair types and there are so many ways to pull them off – wild and wavy, straight and long, or side swept and elegant.
Bangs look great with hair down, up in a pony, or with a half-up half-down hairstyle! We’re obsessed with Jenny from Margo & Me’s perfect retro bangs – here are her tips for styling your bangs so you always look fresh this year:
2. The High Pony
The classic high pony has received a huge upgrade this year. It’s gotten sleeker, sexier and is being rocked by all our fave celebrities. Bella Hadid has been seen sporting this look on and off the runway, and of course, pop darling Ariana Grande has given the high pony a major comeback. It’s also surprisingly easy to pull off!
Pro tip: if you wrap a few strands around your elastic you can take the look to a whole new level. Oh, and don’t worry if you don’t have the length all on your own. Check out this video tutorial from our YouTube channel to see how Karin perfects the high pony using her 220g Dirty Blonde Luxies.
3. Sleek Low Pony
The pony is back in a big way this year and were taking it high and low. It’s super fun to mix it up and this slick low pony completely does the job. Similar to the high pony, this look is flawless and can be pulled off with any hair length or type. Extensions are a great option for shorter hair if you’re looking to replicate Olivia Culpo’s sleek middle part hairdo.
Pro tip: to achieve the sleekest pony possible you can hairspray a clean tooth brush to sweep back fly away hairs and lock in your look.
4. The Lob
Lots of celebrities are making the chop in 2017 and we’re loving it. The lob is amazingly versatile and super low maintenance to style. It looks great ultra straight or curly, but our personal fave is the super relaxed, messy curls everyone is sporting. They are easy to create with a barrel curling iron or flat iron- by alternating curls in and out you can create a voluminous, beachy, effortless look.
If you’re like me, you might be a little anxious to say the least about making a big chop to your hair. No need to worry, because with the help of Luxy Hair extensions you can always switch back and forth with your length. Feeling like a rock star today? Wear your lob with pride. Feeling a bit boho chic tomorrow? Clip in your Luxies! Here is a super helpful video guide that shows you how to transform medium length hair with the help of extensions.
5. Cher Hair
On the opposite end of the hair spectrum, we are seeing super long lengths, almost as an ode to pop superstar Cher; ultra-straight and shiny hair down to the mid-section is back and better than ever. Few of us are blessed with hair this long and healthy, but luckily, extensions are here to help a girl out and Luxy Hair has you covered.
Pro tip: if you’re using extensions for this look, straighten them separately from your hair if you have a thick mane – that way they don’t get exposed to too much heat.
Two of the keys to being on fleek when it comes to Cher hair (using extensions) are colour and length. You want to make sure your mane is full bodied and that the extensions blend in perfectly with your hair. If you’re feeling especially ambitious, you can even cornrow your natural hair and clip your Luxies into each braid for a totally sleek finish:
6. Buzz Cut
Okay, so we know we’re supposed to be promoting long hair as a hair extensions brand…but come on! This bold ‘do has taken over 2017. Kristen Stewart was just one celeb to shave her head this year and we’re loving her new edgy, platinum look. Most recently, super model Cara Delevingne made the buzz, showing off her new look at the Met Gala and VMAs.
Making such a bold cut can be nerve wracking but just think about all of the benefits…less hair = less shampoo = less money and time spent on maintenance, and you will never feel your hair sticking to you on those lazy, hot summer days. If there was ever a time to buzz it all off it’s now!
7. The Wet Look
This look has been sweeping red carpets in 2017. Everyone from Khloe Kardashian to Shay Mitchell is killing this super sultry/sopping wet effect. Something about this hairstyle’s fresh out the ocean vibe makes this a great glam look. Plus it’s easy to pull of with any hair texture or length. Use a spray bottle or wet towel to dampen your hair and then apply mousse from the roots down to keep hair in place. Check out a full tutorial to achieve this look below:
This hairstyle is catching everyone’s eyes in 2017. It’s super striking and works so well with all hair types. Scarlett Johansson seems to be loving her new look as she beams on red carpets. She looks absolutely amazing with this short hair undercut, but it can also be done with longer locks.
9. Messy Low Bun
If you are looking for an easy, trendy hairstyle then look no further. The low messy bun is one of our go-to’s when we’re running behind but still want to look cute and put together. It’s easiest with short to medium hair but can be executed with any length or texture. It has been really popular so far this year and will be perfect for lazy days at the beach this summer.
10. Space Buns
Space Buns…you either love them or you hate them, but guess what, we’re totally in love! This is absolutely one of our favourite 2017 hairstyle trends because it’s easy to create, cute, a little bit out-there! This summer hairstyle is perfect for when you want your hair out of your face, but still want to show off your individual style. This is one hot look for music festivals, and walking along that trendy area in your city. Not only that, there are also so many variations for Space Buns; one of our fave modifications is glitter roots!
So go forth and style that hair however you please! Who knows – maybe you could even try all of these hot trends with the help of Luxy Hair. I know I’m going to!
