“The velvet bow is floppy and a bit asymmetric, which gives the look a nice charm,” said hairstylist Guido, who also noted how versatile the look is. “You could wear it with jeans and a t-shirt to dress up a day look, or make it much more dressy by wearing it with a black evening gown.”
The secret to this sexy look? A smooth blow-dry, a 1 1/4″-sized curling iron, and two jeweled barrettes placed unexpectedly on either side of the crown of the head.
Slightly askew topknots were a little quirky, a little cutes-y, but a whole lot of cool.

Hairstylist Odile Gilbert took half-up hair to the next level by using weaving small sections of hair around each other—a technique she likened to knitting yarn.
Altuzarra broke out statement headbands that would have Blair Waldorf positively drooling.
